It's A Start!

We are so excited that things are starting towards a bit more normal! We do realize that we can't just wipe away the last 2 years, and that many of our members and their families have gone through major changes and hardships. Our hope is that we can provide a safe place for people to re-connect.

HPA wants to take things at slow pace and work up to all the things we have all been missing. Our potlucks will return in the next few months, where we can all gather and share our lives again. Our daytrips will also return with spring. Getting out together in our beautiful province is something we can all look forward to. Hosting speakers, having new classes, making new connections and friends is what we know will start bringing the "normal" back for all of us.

We encourage everyone to go at their own pace, do what you feel you can, and when you are ready to expand your activities and your circle of people, we will be here to welcome you!

The world is in a difficult place right now. We have division in our politics, our cities and across the country. Now is a good time to start to heal those division. Be kind and patient with each other and remember that we cannot know the weight another is carrying, so let us all just try to lighten each others load.

The invasion of Ukraine has reminded us that the world is actually very small. It is time to embrace our differences and stand united in hope for a better future for all.

“Hope can be a powerful force. Maybe there’s no actual magic in it, but

when you know what you hope for most and hold it like a light within you,

you can make things happen, almost like magic.” – Laini Taylor

HPA held our first in person AGM in almost 3 years. We were happy to have so many show up (even though some might have just come for the luncheon after!), we sure do appreciate you all taking the time
